Flexibility & Affordability
We have designed the Corporate Golf League to be flexible, affordable and great for business networking. Key points:
- Enter each month at a time, paying £20 per player per evening.
- Competition runs over 4 consecutive months (Dec 09 - May 2010).
- Enter as a single player and have a team of 4 made up on the night.
- Or enter as an existing group and play together.
Meeting other business golfers
The competition night work on the basis of a team of 4, but you can enter as a SINGLE PLAYER and we make up the teams on the night. That guarantees that you'll meet some other business golfers! But if you have a ready group of 2, 3 or 4 you can stick together anyway - we just make up any shortfall to make a team of 4.
Value for money
For just £20 per person per night, the League provides fantastic value for money. For such a modest entry fee you enjoy:
- use of 50 free range balls on the competition night
- a chance to play for fantastic prizes
- professional golf instruction
- valuable introductions to corporate decision-makers
How does the League work?
The League is a series of target golf evenings running between Dec 09 - May 2010. Players representing North West-based companies compete in teams of 4, aiming for a variety of targets on the driving range and scoring points according to the accuracy of their shots.
To facilitate networking between companies, and to make things affordable for all, we allow single players to enter ONE MONTH AT A TIME and we make up teams of 4 on the night. It costs just £20 per player per night, for which you experience the format outlined below.
To keep things fresh, players aim for different targets each month, and points are awarded according to the accuracy of each shot. A handicap system creates a level playing field.
How is the competition structured?
We allow people to enter month-by-month and there is no commitment to play in more than one evening.
However, to have the best chance of winning one of the overall League Prizes, you really ought to compete in all 4 months, paying your £20 event fee as you go along.
The scores you return on each night are fed into the overall League Table and accumulate over the 4 months. This is updated and published so you can see how you're doing!
Because we change the teams month-on-month, the overall prizes are awarded according to an individual's League position at the end of the series (May 2009) - in other words, based on the points score they accumulate over the competition months.
However, we will be giving out smaller prizes on the night for the best team score on that individual event.
What sort of target games do we play?
The target games are based on a snooker-style scoring system. We create coloured targets on the range and players aim at the appropriate areas, attempting a RED-COLOUR combination. Each player is allowed a certain number of REDS and thus returns a score. This is then adjusted according to handicap category and the points total fed into the cumulative League Table.
When does it take place?
We will schedule 4 evenings with one warm up round.
How many players are expected on each night?
We expect a maximum of 64 players to compete on each night. In the event of uneven numbers in a team, one player may be nominated to play more than once.
